Google Business Profile Help for Roofers
A roofing company can run its own profile at no cost. When storms stack up the work and the listing gets ignored, help is an option. Here’s how to bring someone in safely, what Google says to watch for, and what we’d do on a roofing profile.
Google is free; our time isn’t.
Per Google, Business Profile can be used at no charge, while third parties often charge to keep it current, answer questions, share insights, and reply to reviews. That’s the work our fees pay for. Doing it yourself? Our blog post on Google Maps calls is a good start.

You own it. We manage it.
Owner
Adds and removes users, edits everything, can remove the profile. A profile has one primary owner.
Manager
Edits info, replies to reviews, runs posts. Can’t add or remove users or remove the profile.
Your call, always
Only owners change roles or remove someone. Keep the owner seat for yourself.

The invite, step by step.
- Open the profile while signed in as the owner.
- Go to People and access through More and Business Profile settings.
- Select Add and enter an email; each helper uses their own Google Account.
- Pick Manager, then Invite, and Google emails you when it’s accepted.
We never ask for a password. Our terms tell clients not to send one.

What a roofer’s profile needs most.
A realistic service area
Google says a service area generally shouldn’t reach farther than about 2 hours of driving from where the business is based.
No address if you go to them
Service-area businesses should hide the address, and a virtual office doesn’t count unless it’s staffed during business hours.
Deductible-safe posts
Texas law bars advertising that you’ll pay, waive, or rebate an insured’s deductible. We treat profile posts as advertising, so ours never go there.
Photos from your roofs
Tear-offs, flashing, finished ridgelines, from your own crews.
The name on the truck
No “Roof Repair” or city names added to the business name.
Honest reviews
Ask each homeowner; never trade a discount for a review.

Watch the Performance report.
Google’s Performance tab shows views, the searches that surfaced your profile, taps on the call button, website clicks, and direction requests. Search data refreshes at the start of the month, sometimes up to 5 days late. Google tells owners working with a third party to review results monthly and check for updated photos and hours.

Google’s warnings about outside help.
- No one outside Google can promise or directly influence where your business appears.
- If someone says they’re from Google, ask for an email from an @google.com address.
- No third party can remove your business or get into your profile without your permission.
- Get the services and the price in a written agreement.
- You’re entitled to see your profile’s numbers.
If it isn’t working, remove us.
From People and access, an owner can choose any user and select Remove person. Google keeps their past replies and posts on the profile. We take our access off within 7 business days if you ask, and the profile was yours the whole time.

From purchase to a finished profile.
Onboarding begins the day you buy. Our terms put GBP Setup live within 5 to 7 business days after we get your content and access, with 1 revision round and 5 business days to review it. Google controls verification, so extra steps from Google can stretch that.
The basics
Business name as it’s on your trucks, the right primary category, your real service area.

Replacement, repair, inspections, storm work, and the materials you install.
Photos
Your crews and your finished roofs, not stock shots.
Storm posts
Short and factual, never offering to cover a deductible.
Your review
One round of edits before it’s final.

What a client said about his website.
No roofing client has reviewed us yet. This is Luis Madera of Cam Collision, a body shop in New Braunfels, writing about his website. Copied exactly:
“I have owned a business for 6 years now and never made a website for two reasons, one I have been luck enough to stay busy and the other is because I'm extremely picky with work that I provide and received. Darren built me a website that was just perfect! Everything about it was exactly what I was looking for and more. I am glad it took me 6 years to get one. Any sooner and I would have missed out on his talent. Thanks again”
Roofing profile help, in dollars.
Profile setup alone is $349, or $99 when you keep Monthly GBP Management at $199 a month (weekly posts, review monitoring and replies, photo uploads). The Get Found Bundle adds a website for $799 up front and $249 a month. A website on its own is $599 plus $59 a month for Site Care. No long contract.

See what we’d fix on your roofing profile.
Send the name your roofing company uses on Google. In about a business day you’ll get a narrated recording of your listing beside the first roofers on the map, with our suggestions.
- Your roofing profile and the 3 roofers on top of the map, side by side, in a recording of about 3 minutes.
- The three fixes that matter most.
- No fee, and the clip stays with you.

Roofers ask about profile help.
Can I list every town I’d drive to after a hailstorm?
Keep it to where you really work. Google’s general limit is about 2 hours of driving from your base.
Can a post mention insurance?
Yes, to explain how you help with a claim. Never offer to cover the deductible.
Do you need my login?
No. Invite us as a manager.
Can I post my own photos too?
Yes. As owner you can do anything a manager can.
Is there a contract?
No. Monthly plans are month to month.
What if I want to stop?
Cancel anytime; the plan ends at the close of the paid period, and the profile stays yours.
