Marketing for Fence Companies

We work on two things for fence builders: the Google Business Profile and the website it links to. Every claim on them has to be checkable, and we leave out the ad-agency extras.

Where We Spend The Effort

Two places a fence buyer checks you.

Your Google listing

Name exactly as it’s painted on the truck, the fence types you install as services, the towns you build in, and gate and fence photos from real jobs.

Your website

A page each for wood, iron, chain link or pipe fence, whichever you actually build, plus a quote form that asks for linear feet and how many gates.

Upkeep each month

Fresh project photos and posts on the listing, and replies to new reviews, if you keep Monthly GBP Management.

Not on our menu

Paid ads, yard signs, mailers and social media accounts. We stick to the profile and the site.

The Description Field

What Google lets a fence company say about itself.

Google says the business description should give useful information on the services and products you offer and the mission and history of the business, and that you should be upfront and honest. It also says the description must not focus on special promotions, prices or sales, and that no links of any type are allowed. So your fence types, your towns and how long you’ve been building go in; a spring discount and a coupon code stay out.

The Name On The Listing

No “Fence Company Near Me” tacked on.

Google says the business name on a profile should match the name used on your storefront, website and stationery, and that adding unnecessary information to it isn’t permitted and can lead to suspension. Its examples of what a name must not include cover service information and location information. So if the truck says your company name and nothing else, the listing says the same. Towns go in the service area; fence types go in services.

Service Area

Draw it around the jobs you’ll actually drive to.

Most fence builders meet customers at the property, so Google treats them as service-area businesses: hide the home or shop address and list the areas you cover. Google says a service area shouldn’t extend farther than about 2 hours of driving time from where the business is based. We list the towns you name, and match them on the website.

Questions For Your First Call

What we need to know about your fence work.

These shape both the services list and the website pages.

  • Residential, ranch, commercial, or a mix?
  • Which materials: cedar, pine, iron, chain link, pipe and cable, vinyl?
  • Do you install gate operators or only the gates?
  • Small repairs and single panels, or full runs only?
  • Do you deal with the HOA paperwork, or does the owner?
  • Which towns, and how far out will you quote a long ranch line?
Client Review

What a client said about his website.

We haven’t built for a fence company yet, so this one comes from a different shop. Luis Madera runs Cam Collision in New Braunfels, and when his website was done he wrote this Google review. We quote it as he typed it:

“I have owned a business for 6 years now and never made a website for two reasons, one I have been luck enough to stay busy and the other is because I'm extremely picky with work that I provide and received. Darren built me a website that was just perfect! Everything about it was exactly what I was looking for and more. I am glad it took me 6 years to get one. Any sooner and I would have missed out on his talent. Thanks again”

Free Map Check

See what a homeowner sees when they search for a fence.

Tell us your company name and phone. We run a fence search in your area, screen-record the map, and send the video, typically the next business day.

  • A screen recording, about 3 minutes long: your fence company listing next to the first 3 the map shows.
  • Three changes we’d make, simplest one first.
  • It’s free, and the video is yours to keep.

FAQ

Fence companies ask us.

Will you buy ads for us?

No. We don’t run paid advertising of any kind; we work on your Google profile and your website.

Can my listing name include “fence” and my town?

Only if that’s truly your company’s name. Google doesn’t allow extra keywords in the name.

Do I need to show my yard address?

No. As a service-area business you hide it and list the towns you build in.

What should I send first?

Photos of finished fences and gates, the materials you install, and your towns.

Do I hand over my Google password?

Never. You add us as a manager from your own account and stay the owner.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contracts. Monthly plans cancel anytime.
