Marketing for Welding Shops

For welders and fabrication shops we handle two jobs: setting up the Google Business Profile, and building the website that profile points to.

The Work

What we set up for a welder.

The Google profile

Verified ownership, a category that says what the shop is, your services (mobile repair, gates, trailers, structural work, whatever you really do) and job photos.

The shop website

A page for each kind of welding you want more of, photos of finished pieces, and a request form that asks what metal it is and whether it’s a shop job or on site.

Month to month care

With Monthly GBP Management: weekly posts and updates, review monitoring and responses, and photo uploads.

Google Ads

We don’t run them at the moment. Our attention stays on the profile and the site.

A Fabrication Shop We Built For

JB’s Fabrication LLC, Nixon.

JB’s Fabrication LLC is a welding and metal fabrication shop in Nixon, TX, covering stainless work, metal fab and pipeline welding. Its site has a product page for the shop’s tool with Stripe checkout, and a QR code on the product lands customers right on the checkout page. You can see it on Our Work.

Shop Or Truck

Mobile welders and shop welders set up the listing differently.

Google calls a business that serves customers where they are a service-area business, and says it should hide its address, for example a plumber who runs the business from a home address. A business that also takes customers at its own location can be a hybrid: Google’s example is an auto repair shop with a garage that also does roadside service, which may show its storefront address and set a service area too, as long as the location is staffed and can receive customers during its stated hours. Google also says the service area shouldn’t reach past roughly 2 hours of driving from where you’re based. We ask which of these describes your shop before we touch the address field.

The Name Field

LLC, “Welding” and town names.

Google wants the profile name to match the name used on your sign, website and paperwork, and says extra service or location words in the name aren’t allowed and can get a profile suspended. Legal terms like LLC are on its list too: to keep one in the name, Google asks for real-world proof such as signage, business cards or invoices that show it consistently. If your sign, cards and invoices consistently show LLC, that’s the proof to keep it; if they don’t, it comes off.

Categories

One that says what the shop is.

Google’s rule of thumb is to choose categories that finish the sentence “This business IS a,” to use as few as it takes to describe the core business, and not to add categories just as keywords. Trailer repair, railings or ornamental work you do on the side go in your services list instead.

Before We Start

Questions we ask a welding shop.

The answers decide your services list, your pages and the form.

  • Mobile rig, shop work, or both?
  • Steel, aluminum, stainless, or all three?
  • Do you sell finished products, like gates, pits or racks, or only do custom jobs?
  • Ranch and farm repairs, residential, commercial, or industrial?
  • Does your sign and paperwork include LLC?
  • Which towns will you drive the truck to?
Client Review

What a client said about his website.

This Google review comes from Luis Madera, who owns Cam Collision in New Braunfels. He posted it after we finished his site, and it’s shown here exactly as written:

“I have owned a business for 6 years now and never made a website for two reasons, one I have been luck enough to stay busy and the other is because I'm extremely picky with work that I provide and received. Darren built me a website that was just perfect! Everything about it was exactly what I was looking for and more. I am glad it took me 6 years to get one. Any sooner and I would have missed out on his talent. Thanks again”

Free Map Check

See the map a customer sees when they search for a welder.

Send the shop name and a phone number. We type a welding search from your area, capture what the map shows, and email the recording, usually by the next business day.

  • A narrated screen video, about 3 minutes, putting your welding listing next to the three the map shows first.
  • Three changes we’d suggest, easiest first.
  • You pay nothing, and you keep the file.

FAQ

Welders ask us.

Do you run Google Ads for welding shops?

Not currently. Our work stays on your Google profile and your website.

I weld out of my truck. Does my address show?

Not if you set the profile up as a service-area business; you hide it and list your towns.

Can the site take payment for things I build?

JB’s Fabrication LLC’s site has a product page with Stripe checkout. Tell us what you sell and we’ll tell you if that setup fits.

Do you need my Google login?

No password changes hands. From your own account you invite us in as a manager, and ownership stays with you.

What do I send first?

A dozen phone pictures of finished welds and builds, a rough list of the jobs you take, and where you’ll drive.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contracts. Monthly plans cancel anytime.
